Meet the Owner: Stephanie Morgan, RVA
Hello! My name is Stephanie Morgan and I am the proud owner, CFO, sitter, walker, home-sitter, and “pooper scooper” of A Furry Vacation, LLC.
I grew up with animals. When I was born, I came home to a house where Persian cats lived. My parents were one of three breeders in the state of pure white, blue eyed, non-deaf Persian cats. Before I could walk good, I would ride the back of our full size Collie puppy, Cody. We got Sable, another full size Collie when I was 3. They had 3 litters of puppies and my sister and I learned how to handle, clean their area, feed and play with them. Cody and Sable were my constant companions until we lost them in 2007. Currently I am the proud mom of River, a 2 year old Swedish Valhund, JR a 18 year old rescue kitty, Gracie a 6 year old Calico, Callie, a 5 year old diluted Calico rescue, Rhett Butler, a 4 year old Ragdoll and a tank full of Neons and Cori fish.
When I graduated from high school, I decided working with and caring for animals would be my life’s work. There is nothing about animals that I don’t love. I went to work for PetSmart for 2 years and learned how to lift, handle and groom dogs while working safely in a large, noisy environment. I left PetSmart and over the next 8 years, I worked in a couple different veterinary offices with some amazingly talented vets and assistants. I started school at Penn Foster and in 2016 I became a professionally trained veterinary assistant and by the end of 2020, I will earn my RVT (registered veterinary technician). For the last three years I’ve worked in a animal rehabilitation center which opened a whole new avenue of treatment to me. Here I learned how physical therapy can radically change a pets life for the better. I helped dogs into the clinic that couldn’t make it on their own and watched them walk out unassisted a few months later. I learned how to laser sore and inflamed muscles, assist with acupuncture, Chiropractic treatments, and underwater treadmill therapy. In 2017, I was blessed to be able to start my own company and offer concierge service to pet parents in the North Georgia area on weekends. Now I am moving to full time sitting and walking while continuing my education.
